A scalable enterprise platform that balanced usability, transparency, and compliance requirements within a structured and efficient interface — transforming complex KYC and onboarding processes into accessible digital experiences for investors, managers, and administrators.

// Overview
KlearYC is a compliance and onboarding platform designed to streamline identity verification, investor management, and operational compliance workflows for financial institutions and regulated businesses.
The project focused on designing a desktop platform that simplified complex onboarding and verification processes across three core user groups: investors, managers, and administrators.
My role focused on designing the end-to-end user experience for investor onboarding journeys, compliance and verification workflows, operational dashboards, user and permission management, administrative workflows, and platform-wide interaction patterns. The goal was creating a scalable enterprise platform that balanced usability, transparency, and compliance requirements within a structured and efficient interface.
// The Challenge
KYC and compliance processes are often fragmented, operationally heavy, and difficult for users to navigate. The challenge was designing a platform capable of simplifying highly regulated workflows into intuitive experiences that supported multiple user roles with different responsibilities and permissions.
The platform needed to simplify the investor onboarding journey — transforming fragmented, paperwork-heavy processes into a structured digital experience.
KYC verification workflows had to be trustworthy, transparent, and efficient — reducing friction while maintaining regulatory compliance and user confidence.
Managers and administrators needed clear, structured interfaces to review, approve, or reject uploaded compliance documents without losing visibility or context.
The platform needed to support complex, multi-step compliance processes aligned with regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions and institution types.
Users needed real-time visibility into onboarding progress, verification status, and pending actions — reducing uncertainty and support requests.
Investors, managers, and administrators each needed different views, permissions, and workflows within a single platform experience.
The desktop platform was designed to support onboarding, compliance management, and operational workflows through a clear and structured interface. The UX focused on simplifying complex compliance processes through structured workflows and clear information hierarchy.

Interface Principles
The interface used modular dashboard layouts, table-based data organisation, clear status indicators, step-by-step onboarding flows, action-oriented workflows, consistent navigation patterns, and structured filtering and sorting systems.
Compliance data is inherently dense and overwhelming when presented poorly. The KlearYC platform broke this down through modular dashboards that let users focus on what matters to their role. Status indicators replaced verbose status descriptions. Tables with smart filtering allowed fast drill-down into specific onboarding cases. Step-by-step flows kept complex verification processes structured and predictable. The result was a platform that felt organised rather than bureaucratic, empowering users to complete compliance tasks efficiently without losing trust or confidence.

Desktop Platform — Onboarding Dashboard & Verification Overview
KlearYCA major focus of the project was designing a single platform that supported investors, managers, and administrators without increasing complexity. The experience was tailored for investors completing onboarding and verification processes, managers reviewing compliance workflows and operational activity, and administrators managing permissions, oversight, and platform operations.
Role-Specific Focus
UX Priorities
Design Approach
This approach allowed each persona to focus on the actions and information most relevant to their responsibilities while maintaining consistency across the platform. Role-based navigation adapted the sidebar and top-level menus. Dashboard widgets were configurable per role. Permissions controlled visibility of sensitive compliance data and administrative tools.
Investors saw onboarding steps, document upload tools, and verification status. Managers saw compliance review queues, approval workflows, and operational dashboards. Administrators saw user management, permission controls, and platform oversight panels. Yet the visual language, interaction patterns, and navigation structure remained identical. This consistency reduced training time and made collaboration across roles smoother — everyone spoke the same interface language, even when focusing on different tasks.

// Reflection
This project demonstrated how UX design can simplify highly regulated enterprise systems through clear and intuitive digital experiences.
By focusing on workflow efficiency, transparency, and information hierarchy, the platform transformed complex compliance and onboarding processes into accessible experiences for investors, managers, and administrators within a single ecosystem. The key insight from KlearYC was that in regulated industries, design is not about making things beautiful — it is about making compliance feel manageable. Every step, every status badge, every filtered view was a decision to reduce the mental load of navigating heavy regulatory requirements. When users can trust the interface to surface the right information at the right time, they can focus on what they do best: completing onboarding efficiently and maintaining regulatory confidence.
